immunoSCAPE is a biotechnology start-up operating in the space of high-dimensional immune profiling for target and biomarker discovery and validation. A spin-off from the lab of Dr. Evan Newell at Singapore Immunology Network, A*STAR, immunoSCAPE employs cutting-edge technologies to measure alterations of immune cells and T cell specificity during preclinical studies and clinical trials. immunoSCAPE serves partners around the world. This role will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and will help build the business through local relationships. This role requires a strong immunology background and is responsible for developing new partners and collaborators, helping to close new business, and supporting publication and creation of scientific material showcasing the immunoSCAPE value proposition. Key responsibilities
immunoSCAPE is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong immunology background as well as commercial experience to lead business development efforts on the West Coast. This role will also help evaluate technologies and partnerships to help expand immunoSCAPE's capabilities. The candidate will:
- Develop relationships with existing and prospective partners, leveraging networks to expand contacts and field of influence
- Develop project proposals and negotiate customer contracts
- Lead evaluation of technologies for prospective partnerships to expand immunoSCAPE's capabilities
- Negotiate agreements with prospective partners and assist in management of partner relationships
- Manage projects with partners, including project set-up, experimental design, data analysis, communication of results, working closely with the team in Singapore
- Implement immunoSCAPE’s proactive publication policy by drafting of manuscripts, abstracts and presentations in coordination with the Director, Scientific Affairs
- Help generate other scientific material showcasing immunoSCAPE’s value proposition
- Engage with immunotherapy organizations to promote immunoSCAPE’s services, attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Interact with immunoSCAPE’s Executive Management to establish a global BD and marketing strategy
- Identify and help implement ways to improve prospecting, contracting and project management
Required qualifications and skills
- An advanced degree in Immunology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or related fields
- At least 5 years of lab experience in immunology, preferably in T-cell immunology, multiparameter flow or mass cytometry
- At least 5 years of business development experience in a life science organization
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, clear communicator
- Rigorous, organized and accountable
- Excellent team player, independent, self-driven with good interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport
- Motivation for prospecting, sales, and negotiation
- Preferable: market knowledge and prior experience in business development for a life science organization
