W e are currently seeking an Associate S cientist in Quality Control - 1st Shift to join our team at the AbbVie Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA. The QC Associate Scientist performs laboratory testing within a fast paced cGMP environment in support of one or more of the following areas; raw materials, in-process product, final bulk product, stability, and/or validation. The QC Associate Scientist role requires excellent time management, ability to assist in writing investigations and trending data and work in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Performs test methods as written to support product/material release.
  • Understands and maintains a safe work environment for themselves and others in accordance with procedural requirements.
  • Understands, implements and maintains cGMP with respect to laboratory records, procedures and s y stems in accordance with procedural requirements.
  • P erforms a multitude of laboratory techniques for which they are trained.
  • Accepts responsibility to complete assigned tasks within required timelines and works with others to accomplish business objectives.
  • Revises procedures as necessary and provides continuous improvement support for the department.
  • Support laboratory investigations in a timely manner
  • Support a variety of testing techniques upon completion of training .


  • BA/BS in Chemistr y , Biochemistr y , Medical Technology, Biology or equivalent science degree and 2-5+ years of related work experience.
  • Chromatography experience (for example SEC, Reverse Phase, ion exchange)
  • Spectrophotometric concentration determination
  • Experience providing training on laboratory techniques.
  • LIMS sample management
  • Preferred:
  • Empower software experience
  • W orking knowled ge of advanced laboratory instrumentation
  • Compendial testing (USP/EP/JP)
  • Maintaining critical laboratory inventory
