Celgene is seeking a dynamic Regional Sales Director with proven track record to build and lead the West Region Sales force for our new compound in Multiple Sclerosis. The region will cover all states from Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana west to California, Oregon and Washington.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Meet or exceed sales goals, maximize promotional budgets, and execute the national sales strategy in accordance with Celgene polices.
  • Development and implement area business plan to support the launch of a new product in Neurology.
  • Build a best in class area sales organization, including; sourcing, recruiting, onboarding and training Regional Sales Managers and Neurology Sales Specialists.
  • Develop and sustain an environment consistent with Celgene's Cultural aspirations: Vision, Values, Behaviors, and Purpose.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulation, Celgene Polices, and enforce company regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities in the market place, share best practices, and proactively communicate strategies to cross-functional partners and members of US Leadership Team. Manage implementation of all promotional activities to support sales and marketing strategies, in accordance with Celgene's promotional policies.
  • Consistently collaborate with cross functional field leadership to optimize organizational territory performance.
  • Develop area succession plan to ensure that appropriate talent is in place to achieve long-term business goals and support the growth of the corporation.
  • Act as a player/coach by building and sustaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Coach team members individually to perform as a high functioning unit.
  • Responsible for taking appropriate corrective action when observing and/or reviewing sales and sampling practices that are not accordance with Celgene's expectations, polices, or procedures.
    Skills/Knowledge Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10+ years experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical industry.
  • 3+ years pharmaceutical sales management experience with document leadership accolades.
  • Management of 8-10 direct reports (Management level).
  • Therapeutic experience in Multiple Sclerosis or competitive Specialty preferred.
  • New drug launch experience preferred.
  • Broad commercial experience, including Marketing, Market Access, or Operations.
  • Demonstrated track record of effective interpersonal skills, ability to provide effective performance feedback, strong written and verbal skills, good presentation skills, sound evaluator of performance, and analytical abilities.
  • Able to travel 50% with overnights stays.
  • Must reside within region boundaries. Preferred locations: Chicago, Minneapolis, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle#LI-POST
