FACILITIES COORDINATOR

Position Summary:

The Facility Coordinator will provide support to the Site with operational activities in maintenance, operations, equipment and supplies, and proactively develop and maintain internal client relationships ensuring that expected service levels are achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day support of Cafes, Lunchroom, Copy Rooms, Conference Rooms, Rest Rooms and general office/visitor areas to ensure a clean and safe environment, while providing well stocked amenities and necessities
  • Support biology and chemistry lab operations through collection of hazardous and bio-hazardous waste, lab glass wash and sterilization
  • Administer Shipping & Receiving, mail and courier services, office supplies and equipment maintenance
  • Perform lite cleaning of restrooms and other areas outside of labs.
  • Support the delivery and stocking of site amenities which may include: catering services, break room/office/Copy Rm./lab supply areas, etc. Online ordering of stock items may also be requested
  • Support onsite events and meetings with room set up and supporting special requirements
  • Perform conference room configuration requests and support of special events as needed
  • Identify opportunities for improved operation and service excellence, making recommendations to improve everyone's experience and department efficiency
  • Support repairs and maintenance, minor installations and other work requests, tracking to completion
  • Provide information and direction to vendors and other service providers as requested by Facilities Management to ensure execution of work
  • Support space planning activity as it relates to new hire set ups, workstation moves/modifications as needed
  • Willingness to receive training and certification in First Aid/CPR/AED and IATA shipping procedures
  • Assist in carrying out safety and emergency response activities as directed
  • Follow established escalation procedures and incident reporting procedures
  • Actively support an environment of teamwork, co-operation, performance excellence and personal success
  • Seek ways to reduce costs and improve operational standards
  • Additional tasks and projects as requested by management

Qualifications:
  • Effective communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and with others
  • Strong understanding of "customer service"
  • Basic computer skills with willingness/ability to expand knowledge.
  • Self-motivated; confident, energetic and flexible
