Job description:
  • Conscientious scientist who will make substantial contributions to the conception and execution of research studies, within a highly collaborative environment, investigating immune-related fibrotic diseases.
  • A primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to perform assays to determine cytokine/chemokine levels and gene expression analysis from preclinical studies from cells and tissue (rodent and human) samples.
  • Expertise in cell culture, cytokine release assays, mRNA isolation and assessment, flow cytometry and analysis of proteins expression by western blot analysis supporting MOA and target validation are key responsibilities for this position.
  • Willingness to work with rodent models of immune dysregulation (including fibrotic disease). Previous rodent handling in an experimental setting is a plus.
  • He/She will develop and optimize new methods/techniques to generate reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner. Strong problem solving skills are required.
  • Working closely with his/her supervisor this scientist will schedule and prioritize workload to manage several tasks simultaneously and identify/utilize resources outside of own group.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present data clearly and thoroughly in both one-on-one and group meetings.
  • The candidate must be willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary research team in an exciting, fast-paced environment under the mentorship of a supervisor.


The level is commensurate with experience.

Basic:

  • BS or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Immunology, or a related field.
  • Experience culturing cells, expertise isolating RNA from tissue and cell preparations is highly desired.
  • Highly developed communication skills and keen ability to engage internal and external team members in collaborative research.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS +3 years of experience, MS +0 years of experience required to ensure that incumbent has necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to do the job.
