Summary: We are looking for a research associate with experience in protein mass spectrometry to join the Analytical Chemistry group of Regeneron located at Tarrytown, NY. The candidate will focus on applying the state-of-the-art mass spectrometry technology to conduct biochemical characterization of Regeneron's antibody-based therapeutic protein candidates and/or products. The candidate will be involved in developing analytical methods, executing experimental protocols for protein primary structure analysis, carbohydrate profiling, protein charge variants analysis, and post-translational modifications (PTMs) identification on monoclonal antibodies from at all stages of development. The candidate will also be involved in developing new mass spectrometry technologies to support the R&D programs.

Responsibilities
  • Develops primarily LC/MS based analytical methods to support the development of monoclonal antibody-based therapeutic proteins at all stages;
  • Conducts analytical experiments on therapeutic proteins, and analyzes mass spectrometry data to elucidate the quality attributes of therapeutic protein candidates and/or products;
  • Conducts analytical methods qualification to support the late-stage therapeutic protein development programs;
  • Documents experiments, results and findings in electronic laboratory notebook; presents work at the group and department meetings; participates in the writing of technical reports, SOPs, and analytical method protocols etc.
  • Provides the data in a quality presentation form (graphs, figures, tables, etc.) to support regulatory submissions and peer-reviewed publications;
  • Works with multi-functional program/project teams;
  • Participates in the general lab and instrument maintenance.

Requirements
  • BS or MS in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical or Biomedical Engineering (or related discipline) with 0-5 years of relevant experience
  • Prior Biotech/biopharma industry experience is preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in protein characterization using LC-MS is preferred but not required
  • Prior experience with protein intact mass analysis and peptide mapping is preferred but not required
  • Willing to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be capable of handling multiple tasks while meeting timelines and adapting to changing priorities
  • Ability to support management and to work in cross functional teams.
  • Strong organization and communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies and solve problems
  • Ability to work in a team environment
