Summary
We are seeking a Process Development Associate to work in the Tech Transfer & Logistics Department of the Pre-Clinical Manufacturing and Process Development Group. The TT&L group is primarily responsible for leading production process transfer of protein candidates to Clinical Manufacturing as well as managing departmental business operations. This person will support company-wide research activities by managing departmental drug product inventory and supply chain logistics through the implementation and analysis of key analytics. The individual will be responsible for managing daily product requests and material distribution, product shipping and storage logistics, and work to identify key process improvement opportunities that increase the speed and efficiency of inventory and distribution practices. The candidate should demonstrate resourcefulness through proactive behavior and effective value prioritization of tasks. He/she will be expected to communicate effectively with all functions and levels within the organization, exemplify strong interpersonal and customer service skills while leveraging prior technical experience/knowledge. The candidate will be expected to participate effectively in teams, collaborate with others to drive efficient progress, and execute core responsibilities independently with limited supervisory guidance.

Responsibilities
The individual will be primarily involved in inventory management and distribution activities. The candidate will be relied on to:

-Manage the entire drug product and research reagent inventory in secured freezers via the use of a LIMS database. Receive and fill daily product requests to support Regeneron research needs in a timely fashion while providing high quality customer service.

-Perform aliquots of drug product and research material, utilizing sterile lab technique, to support inventory and requisition needs.

-Conduct external shipments of research reagents and material for viral clearance studies, non-GLP and GLP preclinical studies to collaborators and contract research organizations. Facilitate cross-functional coordination with requestors, R&D Program Strategy and Operations, Shipping & Receiving, PMPD, FDG, Legal (others, as needed) to ensure well-planned and executed shipments.

-Analyze and maintain inventory turnover and material supply chain needs in alignment to expected distribution and shipment bandwidth using well-selected metrics. Design and ensure model scalability to shift accordingly with rapidly evolving needs. Assist in monitoring, planning, mapping, and forecasting product demands across department.

-Identify key process improvement opportunities and/or devise strategies to increase the speed and efficiency of inventory and distribution practices. Leverage supply chain management practices where useful and appropriate.

-Assist with collection, analysis and expansion of value-adding operational performance metrics based on supply chain management practices. Begin developing data visualization dashboards to showcase knowledge in real-time.

-Responsible for developing and delivering presentations to colleagues, supervisors and/or Senior Management.
-Construct training protocols for routine inventory and distribution activities. Design effective business processes or workflows as needed. Prepare clear and thorough meeting minutes for discussions when/where appropriate. Position may extend in time to managerial responsibilities of an intern or co-op with similar job duties.

Requirements
BS in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering or Biotechnology with an interest in Operations/Logistics, Project Management, Supply Chain or Inventory Management, Demand Planning, Data Analytics, and Business.

-Has 0-2 years work experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. Strong customer service skills and orientation needed.

-Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to a new or rapidly changing environment and remain flexible as needs evolve.

-Possesses a good ability to facilitate team cooperation and design effective business processes and/or workflows. Has experience working with teams towards common project goals. Promotes teamwork and the exchange of ideas and information in all directions. Understands how/when to provide necessary feedback and to whom to address/confront conflicts as they arise.

-Demonstrates ability and initiative to use knowledge, data and experience to solve problems in area of specialty. Commands necessary courage to confront issues head on to advance projects efficiently and effectively.

-Work to develop understanding of the relationships among different fields as they apply to drug discovery and recognize how to effectively bridge key issues back to the department to drive efficient progress.

-Possesses excellent communication, organizational, managerial, analytical, computer, and technical writing skills.

-Prior experience performing experimentation in a biopharmaceutical process development laboratory is highly recommended. Experience pipetting in a sterile lab environment.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Familiarity working with a LIMS and business intelligence software tools (e.g. Spotfire) is a plus.
