Summary
The Metabolic Disease Group at Regeneron is committed to discovering novel targets and innovative medicines to treat diabetes, dyslipidemia and obesity.
The candidate will help to advance the metabolic project portfolio in the area of lipid metabolism in supporting current programs and with target validation for new projects.
The candidate will be responsible for providing scientific direction, technical expertise and leadership, coordinating activities with project teams, other labs and groups across the organization.
• Responsible for conducting lab work to support existing development projects in lipid research area with in vitro and in vivo studies.
• Identify areas for target discovery in metabolic diseases, design and perform experiments for target identification and validation.
• Provide timely updates on scientific progress and communicate efficiently within the Metabolic Disease Group and across different functions.

Requirements
Experience and Required Skills:
• PhD and/or MD with a minimum of three years of post-doctoral training.
• Experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, in vitro assay development and in vivo biology is essential
• Documented strong scientific record, excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience with animal disease models for targets validation and characterization of therapeutics in metabolic diseases area.
• Ability to independently design and perform complex in vivo studies, interpret data and present the results
• Candidate with expertise in the areas of lipid metabolism, liver-related disorders (NASH and ASH) and/or obesity is preferred. Additional experience in the area of immunology is a plus.
• The successful candidate will be results-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving abilities who is flexible, team-oriented, creative and able to excel in a multi-project, fast-track environment.
This position will require the individual to pass a physical before beginning employment.
Level will be commensurate with experience.
