Summary:
The Manager, Customer Insights (EYLEA) will be accountable for designing, implementing and analyzing the results of market research studies in order to assess customer needs and reaction to products and services. The person in this role will utilize market research tools and techniques to assist in the development of marketing and sales strategies. This position requires proficiency in study design and interpretation as well as a broad understanding of qualitative and quantitative market research. The Manager, Customer Insights (EYLEA) will design and execute research/analyses to support pre-launch or in-line strategies and tactics, as well as develop and manage market research plans and budgets. This individual will also analyze competition and identify potential marketing opportunities and threats, as well as participate in forecasting products and markets. The manager will also utilize secondary market research data sets and applications to assist in market analysis and insight generation.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research studies to assess the needs, behaviors and attitudes of key customer groups.

• Interpret and translate business issues into concise market research objectives and market research studies with clear and specific deliverables. This may include market and product opportunity assessments, product positioning, development of promotional and sales materials or information, and pricing/market access studies.

• Identify current and future product, market and customer information needs through primary and/or secondary market research

• Determine target markets and marketing strategies based on customer demographics, attitudes and behaviors

• Select and manage outside vendors to execute and analyze research results and provide data presentations with research conclusions and actionable recommendations

• Examine the results provided by consultants and vendors and provide, prepare, and present findings and recommendations to marketing/senior management.

• Work closely with alliance partners if applicable to ensure alignment across stated goals and objectives and to insure an aligned approach to completion of research projects.

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to demonstrate analytical skills

• Strong proficiency in primary market research skills, qualitative and quantitative.

• Knowledge of key pharmaceutical secondary data sources, and ability to use those sources to provide insights and analyses of market size, market trends, and to supplement primary market research.

• Ability to interact, negotiate and support a point of view across multiple levels of management.

• Ability to present complex data sets in clear and concise formats.

• Ability to identify strategic opportunities.

• Ability to manage market research budgets.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS required and a minimum of 7 years of "progressive" experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or laboratory industry or a minimum of 5 years in health care market research with specific experience in survey design, data analysis (including secondary data), managing vendors and presenting results.

• Experience with payer, pricing and market access studies

• MBA or other graduate degree desired but not required.

• Alliance or co-promotion experience strongly desired.
