Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. This person will work in Viral Vector Technologies in Tarrytown, NY. Lentiviral vectors are viral vectors used as potent molecular tool for gene transfer in R&D and for human gene therapy. One of the main objectives of the Viral Vector Technologies group at Regeneron is to develop novel lentiviral vectors with improved properties for safest and efficient gene delivery into specific cell types and tissues. The student will help with engineering aspects for the development of those vectors, and will learn techniques and skills necessary to design, produce, titrate and characterize novel lentiviral vectors. The student will also test the activity of those vectors in cell culture-based assays, and assess their capacity to efficiently infect specific targeted cell types. Specific skills include molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture, recombinant virus production and titration, qPCR and proteins expression methods such as western blot and flow cytometry.
