Responsibilities
The Diabetes and Complications Therapeutic Area (DCTA) of Eli Lilly and Company, Indianapolis, IN, USA focuses on biomedical research and the discovery of therapeutics for the treatment of the complications of diabetes. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow - CardioRenal Drug Discovery, will play a key role in expanding the understanding of molecular mechanisms of heart failure. Techniques available to learn and to utilize include (i) in vitro cardiomyocyte signaling and function, (ii) isolated perfused heart (Langendorf system), (iii) surgical and genetic models of heart failure, (iv) echocardiography and pressure volume loops to measure cardiac function in vivo, (v) human genetics and bioinformatics for translation of pre-clinical findings to human disease. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will have the opportunity with work with world class scientists in the fields of cardiovascular metabolic and renal disease, publish their research and attend national conferences.

Basic Qualifications
  • PhD in scientific discipline
  • Strong background of molecular biology and heart failure pathophysiology highly preferred


Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Expertise in molecular biology, CRISPR-Cas technology, transcriptomics, proteomics, designing and generating transgenic mice, APEX2 proximity labelling and confocal microscopy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to network and build professional relationships are essential.


Additional Information
  • This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of 2 years with the potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
