The Associate Director, Fibrosis Medical will support the development and execution of global disease, biomarker, and asset medical strategies and programs for Fibrosis. They will represent HQ Fibrosis Medical in strategic and tactical discussions regarding Bristol-Myers Squibb development and commercialization strategy and will partner with the Clinical Development, Pharmacodiagnostics, Translational Medicine, Regulatory, and Commercial teams

Position Responsibilities
  • Participate in Medical Matrix Team activities and meetings, contributing to the development, planning, and execution of the Medical Plan aligned to disease, biomarker, and asset strategies
  • Partner with diagnostic companies to develop and execute medical plans to ensure market level diagnostic test understanding and adoption
  • Represent Fibrosis Medical in relevant cross-functional matrix teams, contribute appropriately to the Brand planning process
  • Coordinate multiple medical activities including scientific advisory boards and congress scientific coverage
  • Establish and maintain interactions with external medical and scientific experts, clinical researchers, and academic centers to assess unmet medical needs, gather expert insights, and engage in scientific exchange
  • Transform disease, biomarker, and asset data into medical knowledge for both internal and external stakeholders, work with other medical functions to develop and execute robust publication strategies, prepare training material, and medical education programs
  • Maintain working knowledge of the treatment and biomarker landscape, generate and analyze expert insights and translate them into action.
  • Appropriately support and drive research activities including sponsored trials and non-registrational data generation

Desired Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Medical Affairs, including experience working with thought leaders
  • Therapeutic knowledge and experience in liver disease
  • Ability to travel, up to 30%

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to evaluate scientific data and literature and extrapolate to clinical development, medical, and commercial programs
  • Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient. The ability to organize multiple projects and initiatives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Ability to simply communicate complex data to internal and external stakeholders.

Other Qualifications
  • Advanced science degree (e.g. MD, PharmD, PhD, NP)
  • Experience in the development and implementation of biomarkers and diagnostics preferred
  • Experience in liver fibrosis, including Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis preferred
