PM Group wishes to recruit an Electrical Low Voltage Engineer. The broad base of work across PM Group offers the opportunity to work on a range of projects, from conceptual stage through to detailed design, commissioning and qualification. The positions are based in the San Francisco/Bay Area of California and will require some travel.
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare Detailed Electrical Specifications, Contract Drawings and Bid Packages for industrial and heavy commercial electrical installations, especially related to pharmaceutical, healthcare or manufacturing facilities highly preferred
  • Design electrical services packages in Revit & AutoCAD
  • Expertise in low voltage design including fire alarm system, data and security systems
  • Designs IT spaces in healthcare facilities, office space, equipment rooms, telecom rooms, etc. 
  • Perform site surveys to recognize cabling infrastructure system deficiencies and effectively communicate and coordinate a solution with the local leadership and design team
  • Prepare Detailed Low Voltage Specifications, Contract Drawings and Bid Packages for low voltage systems installations, especially related to, pharmaceutical, healthcare or manufacturing facilities highly preferred
  • Provide technical support and assistance to Senior Electrical Engineers
  • Implementing Quality & CAD Revit standards
  • Check other electrical engineers work for accuracy and quality and undertake peer reviews
  • Attend and participate in client and PM Group meetings
  • Participate in project site visits to monitor, review and sign-off electrical installations

Qualifications / Experience:

  • 5+ years progressive experience in designing low-voltage infrastructure, communications, video and security, synchronized clocks, audio video, paging, CATV distribution, UPS, and systems projects
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Ability to design fire alarm system and prepare drawings to the city for permit
  • Capability of critical thinking including problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and a functional level
  • Ability to work independently and on multiple projects at the same time
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients, senior management, staff, and vendors
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to take initiative to resolve issues
  • Experience in working directly/managing clients, architects, engineers and vendor
