The Research Associate – Gene Therapy is responsible for supporting AGTC’s gene therapy research projects in alignment with the Company goals, working independently with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and qualify new assay methods, including in vitro and cell-based assays
- Plan, execute and troubleshoot routine assays and procedures
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data in a timely manner
- Write and/or review SOPs, technical reports and study reports
- Maintain relevant laboratory supplies and equipment as needed
- Present scientific results at appropriate meetings and conferences
- Observe and comply with AGTC’s Employee manual and Safety and Quality manual
- Knowledge of laboratory safety, OSHA policies, and EPA standards
Educational Qualifications
- A B.S. or higher degree, with a degree in a Biology, Biochemistry or relevant science major
- Four years or more of relevant experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on laboratory experience in common molecular biology, cell biology and protein chemistry techniques
Additional Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in basic biological laboratory techniques, including cloning, PCR, bacterial & mammalian cell culture, transfection procedures and immunoassays
- Proven record of delivering high quality results against deadlines
- Good documentation practice
- Highly motivated with the ability to work as a team player, as well as independently
- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of commonly used scientific software programs
