The Vendor Performance Lead, Global Biometric Sciences (GBS) will be responsible for coordinating with GBS strategic partner(s) to manage the portfolio of awarded studies. This role will work closely with the Planning and Execution Leads and GBS Head of Planning and Vendor Management to ensure excellence in executing the current portfolio with our strategic partner(s) while understanding the future book of work and the partner(s) supporting capability. This role will work closely with other vendor performance leads managing other partner(s) to ensure alignment of process while ensuring activities are fit for purpose. This position reports directly to the Head of Planning and Vendor Management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure vendor portfolio performance by developing and/or monitoring all portfolio metrics, including deliverable timelines
  • Identify and address critical study level issues and ensure partnership level challenges are communicated to senior management
  • Provide tracking of the partnership budget ($10M-$15M) and compliance of the statement and work and change order process
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives to drive partnership performance
  • Provide process expertise to stakeholder for vendor management practices and ensures adherence to BMS enterprise policy and standards
  • Understand the future book of work to enable accurate planning and execution of the portfolio with the partner(s) supporting capability
  • Leads the Operating Management Committee (OMC) governance meetings
  • Identify agenda topics and participate in the Strategic Management Committee (SMC) governance meetings
  • Primary point of contact within GBS for the partner(s) including escalation point for issue resolution
  • Serve as a liaison between GBS and BMS Global Procurement in support of the initiation, assessment, due diligence, contracting, issue escalation and on-going maintenance of vendor partnerships
  • Effectively communicate the GBS Mission and Vision in a fashion that generates pride, excitement and commitment within GBS and the partner(s)
  • Work closely with partner(s) and internal stakeholders to build and sustain the partnership culture



The Vendor Performance Lead will enable a successful collaboration with GBS teams and the strategic partner) thus enabling the success of delivering the pipeline.

  • Bachelor's degree in science or business administration
  • Graduate degree preferable and/or relevant experience
  • >7 years of vendor management or biometrics related experience in a regulated environment
