To fully utilize the potential of Connected Care and insulins, Lilly needs to be capable of showing clear value that the franchise brings to patients, caregivers, HCPs and Payers. The data Lilly generates and communicates need to answer important medical, technical or economic questions. To do that, a well-informed data generation strategy and implementation plan is a key component. The role of Advisor, Evidence strategy and generation, Connected Care will coordinate, lead, influence and collaborate with multiple teams in the areas of Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Global Patient Outcomes/Real World Evidence, Preclinical Development, Global Scientific Communications, Marketing, Access, and Integrated Health Systems, all on U.S. and Global level, to understand, generate and share data supporting the business strategy. This needs to be done in alignment with overall company-wide and Business Unit strategies. The Advisor will closely cooperate with US Marketing and US Medical affairs CC leads to ensure consistent strategic direction.

Responsibilities
  1. Data generation Strategy Development for Key Launch Assets in Connected Care
  • Leads the development of Data Generation Strategy for Connected Care.
  • Develops close, cross-functional relationships and partnerships with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, GPO/RWE, GSC. Marketing, PRA and other experts within Lilly. Collaborates, advises and leads Data strategy, planning, execution and best practices for Connected Care portfolio.
  • Engages with customers, opinion leaders, patient advocacy groups, professional societies/medical associations, and publishers
  • Uses external and internal insights to identify emerging trends, needs, and requirements and to inform, develop, and refine Data strategies.
  • Represents/presents Data Generation Strategy and Execution plan to leadership and /or leadership meetings.
  • Carefully studies and develops/maintains expertise on the publication environment (and other communication channels), including monitoring congresses/journals and competitor publication strategies/activities within disease state/area of responsibility.
  • Identifies gaps and opportunities for research, and provides recommendations to the leadership.
  • Uses strong strategic and analytical thinking to develop, defend, and implement strategic and tactical plans
  • Partners with Scientific Communications to ensure consistency of Global/U.S. publication strategies.
  • Identifies synergies and drives for alignment across portfolio when indications overlap.
  • Works independently to integrate input from senior management, resolve conflicting input, and incorporate multiple needs and strategies into a strategic plan that supports identified business needs.
  • Functions independently as a decision-maker on Data/Evidence related issues.
  • Identifies opportunities for synergy with other departments/vendors and forms those synergies.
  • Collaborates with Alliance Management to cooperate on Alliance assets research and data generation, as applicable.
  1. Portfolio Management/Delivery
  • Responsible/accountable for management/delivery of overall book of work for assigned area.
  • Develops and executes sourcing plans to ensure seamless delivery of data plan and priorities.
  • Collaborates with functional management/capabilities leadership to ensure alignment of business planning and operations, coordinating across and developing synergies with therapeutic platforms, phases of development, and geographies.
  • Identifies and leads cooperation with external professional organizations, Thought leaders and researchers on mutually valuable research projects related to the Data Generation Strategy.
  • Adjusts work plan based on shifting priorities using effective change control.
  • Leads and directs internal and external team members in achieving team goals.
  • Identifies and resolves issues impacting delivery of work.
  • Partners with functional leads to ensure consistent communication and appropriate sourcing strategies are in place in support of overall delivery of the plan.
  • Conceives of and implements new and efficient ways to accomplish goals.
  • Partners in the selection process and may manage relationship for preferred vendors.
  • Regularly reports results to leadership and stakeholders.
  1. Subject Matter Expert
  • Functions as expert on Data strategy, planning and execution.
  • Provides Data strategy expertise to other professionals and respective platforms project teams.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and represents Data strategy on committees and task forces.
  • Analyzes and interprets new and updated industry (industries) guidelines for research.
  • Understands and train others on how to generate and connect different type of data to present a robust value proposition.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in scientific, health, communications, or technology related field
  • 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position


Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Scientific understanding and knowledge to be an effective partner with Medical, GPO/RWE, Clinical Development and Early Phase/Pre-Clinical units in developing Data strategy and research plans
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong experience from partnering with multiple organizational leaders
  • Proven ability to lead others
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership for and management of multiple staff and projects
  • Excellent organizational, business, and communication skills
  • 7+ years in pharmaceutical industry represent an advantage
  • MD, Pharm. D., Masters in Nursing, MBA degrees
  • Experience in writing, reviewing, and publishing scientific materials and the ability to appraise scientific literature and raw data critically for potential development of new publications.
  • US Commercial experience
  • Clinical research experience
  • Experience with effective partnering with Medical Affairs, Development, GPO/RWE and Commercial functions.
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Experience in leading/managing an asset or portfolio
  • Knowledge of scientific, statistical, and research principles and guidelines
  • Superior analytical skills, demonstrated ability to identify gaps and develop strategies.
  • Project management or 6 sigma experience is an advantage
