BMS Immuno-Oncology Small Molecule Discovery is seeking a highly motivated, creative and collaborative individual to play a key contributing role in advancing an innovative immuno-oncology drug discovery pipeline. The successful candidate will have scientific and managerial responsibilities for conducting in vivo research. The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge of tumor immunology, experience conducting exploratory research on syngeneic tumor models, and/or humanized mouse models. As part of this role, the candidate will employ cutting-edge in vitro and ex vivo platforms to dissect the mechanism(s) of in vivo efficacy in tumor models. Experience with complex flow cytometry profiling of immune cells is required. The candidate will be expected to independently design, execute and analyze experiments and will present their work at both internal and external meetings. BMS is a highly matrixed organization and the successful candidate will work well within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ideal candidates will be proficient in working with mouse primary immune cells (e.g myeloid and/or T cells), functional immune cell-based assays (e.g. T cell activation and MLR assays), multicolor flow-cytometry (10-14 colors) and experience with TIL analysis. Previous experience in animal imaging is a plus.
  • Competitive candidates are expected to have a strong track record of independent and innovative research as evidenced by recent first authored publications in top tier peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience establishing novel tumor mouse models is desirable
  • Experience navigating large genomic and profiling datasets, genome editing technology is ideal but not required.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment is essential.
  • A PhD degree with ≥5 years of post-graduate research experience in tumor immunology, or a closely related field, is required. Familiarity with drug discovery would be an advantage but not a requirement.
