As a Research Investigator in Leads Discovery and Optimization at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, the successful candidate will be trained and skilled in biochemical and cellular assays as it relates to discovery of novel clinical candidates. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of protein degradation with a proven track record of research in this area. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-starter who values attention to detail. An in-depth knowledge in relation to enzyme kinetics, mechanisms of inhibition and enzyme assay platforms is a plus. Responsibilities include, execution of new and established biochemical and cell-based assays, utilization of existing software to analyze data generated and presentation of results. As a member of the organization, the person will be expected to collaborate closely with existing team members as well as actively collaborate with chemists and biologists within relevant therapeutic area teams (oncology, immuno-oncology, immunology, cardiovascular and fibrosis) in order to support and provide insight for an emerging new drug discovery modality. Therefore, strong inter-personal, oral and written communication skills are a must.

  • PhD, plus relevant postdoctoral work and 5+ years of experience in biochemistry and cell biology. Knowledge of targeted protein degradation is a must.
  • Experience with Luminescence/Fluorescence based assays and kinetic and equilibrium binding analyses
  • Design, development and execution of de novo assays to explore mechanism of action and kinetics of compounds. Highly skilled in troubleshooting experimental design and interpret data independently, with the ability to effectively organize, analyze and depict data using common software packages.
