Position Summary

The Director, Value & Access (V&A) Marketing understands the marketing needs of every V&A segment and produces marketing pieces for V&A and for the Sales teams to support V&A and the Sales teams relative to V&A initiatives. The Director, V&A Marketing collaborates and coordinates between Value & Access, Health Economics & Outcomes Research Team, and all Brand Marketing Teams to reduce duplication of efforts and to produce marketing resources in a streamlined manner consistent with brand strategy.

The Director, Value and Access Marketing leads the development of market access strategies, tactics, and communications that drive awareness of Ipsen and it products (Onivyde, Somatuline, Dysport and Increlex). This includes all needs related to launch plans and readiness. The position will be accountable for developing, refining and executing innovative, integrated programs at the time of launches and beyond to drive sustained brand growth.

Key components of this role will include:

 

  • Lead the creation and management of electronic & print resources for V&A stakeholders
  • Deploy non-personal tactics that support key branded and unbranded messages across V&A stakeholders
  • Communicate V&A Marketing plan and resources to key internal stakeholders
  • Manage advertising agencies and ensure V&A Marketing spending is within budget
  • Create V&A-related direct to consumer/patient materials
  • Support branded and unbranded competitive strategy across all therapeutic areas

 


Essential Functions

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

 

  • Partner with V&A Leadership to determine marketing resource needs for all V&A groups (Corporate Accounts, National Accounts, Strategic Accounts, Federal Accounts, Trade, Field Reimbursement, Patient Services, Pricing & Contracting) for each current product and new product launch
  • Collaborate with Marketing Brand Units and Sales Leadership to determine marketing resources needs from V&A
  • Design, with V&A Groups and considering Brand priorities, the strategic priorities for V&A pieces (different pieces for V&A use and for field sales use) for each brand
  • Represent the V&A Team on Brand Planning with all Brand Units
  • Work with Marketing and Marketing vendors to review and create pieces aligned with the strategy and to streamline currently used V&A Tools
  • Sheppard resources through the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) process


Education

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree required


Experience

 

 

  • 7-10 years of Marketing experience with a focus on market access is required. V&A Account Management experience preferred
  • At least 12 years of experience in the biotech /pharmaceutical industry

 


Core Competencies (Specific knowledge, skills and abilities that enable an individual to effectively perform the job)

 

 

  • Previous experience working with advertising agencies
  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare landscape
  • Working knowledge of US payers (Medicare, Medicaid, Private Payers)
  • Previous market access launch experience
  • Buy and Bill and Oncology Experience is preferred
  • Experience working through the Promotional Review Committee process is preferred
  • Strong team player with ability to engage colleagues from a wide range of functional areas to improve business performance
  • Self-starter who has the initiative to function autonomously and the confidence and ingenuity to initiate, create and bring ambiguity into action
  • Ability to manage, motivate and lead others
  • Strong creative skills
  • Responsible, flexible and accountable with a proactive approach and ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
