Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented PhD level Research Investigator, who has extensive experience in cellular immunology and immune-oncology. The ideal candidate is a subject matter experiment in one or more areas of immunology, including myeloid and T cell biology, antigen presentation, and immune cell trafficking, with a strong record of scientific achievement in the field. A working knowledge of the immunotherapy landscape and resistance to checkpoint immunotherapy is highly desirable. The candidate must have a technical background in flow cytometry, familiarity with FlowJo or other flow analysis software, and possess strong analytical capabilities. Additional qualifications include a deep understanding of cellular immunology assays, prior experience working with human tissues and blood, and hands-on experience processing tissues for flow cytometry and downstream assays. Prior clinical-facing experience is a plus. Duties of this position include providing scientific insights and input into program strategy, working in the lab to process samples and developing new assays, and managing the duties of associates in the lab. The candidate will work with the program leadership to develop and test immune-checkpoint resistance hypotheses, utilizing internal datasets and clinical sample cohorts. Expectations include effective time management, balanced experimental design, rigorous interpretation of data, and clear communication of results. The qualified candidate should be capable of working within a fast-paced and highly-matrixed multi-disciplinary research environment.

Qualifications / Essential Skills
  • PhD in cellular immunology or immune-oncology with 0-2 years post-graduate experience in an academic or industry setting
  • Subject matter expert in one or more areas of immunology
  • Strong record of achievement in the field
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience with managing day-to-day activities of assistant/associate researchers in the lab
  • Experience using FlowJo and other flow analysis software, and strong analytical capabilities
  • Hands-on experience and practical knowledge in cellular assays, including proliferation, suppression, cytotoxicity, migration, and cytokine secretion
  • Experience in sample processing, including bead sorting, PBMC isolation, and tumor dissociation
  • Prior experience as part of a multidisciplinary team in an academic or industry setting
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills and flexibility and proactive approach to taking on a multifunctional role within a large cross-function team.
