Atreca is a dynamic biotechnology company applying its Immune Repertoire Capture® (IRC™) technology to discover and develop novel cancer immunotherapeutics. By profiling the clinically relevant, active B cell responses of patients, we are building a portfolio of tumor-targeted antibodies.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Associate or Sr Research Associate to join our Protein Engineering group with responsibilities that include protein design, cloning, mammalian expression, and biophysical characterization. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating sequences generated from Atreca's IRC™ pipeline to therapeutic leads.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Help develop antibody expression, purification, and characterization methods
- Help produce and characterize antibodies, bispecifics, and other formats
- Follow laboratory safety guidelines and practices
Required Skills:
- Strong team spirit: capable of working in a team-based, interdisciplinary environment and collaborating with scientists and associates in a fast-paced, energetic environment
- Exceptional communication, organization, and record keeping
- Independent and self-motivated, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to drive a project to completion within timelines
Required Experience:
- BS/BA or MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering, or related field
- 2+ years experience in recombinant protein production & characterization (industry preferred)
- Expertise in mammalian cell culture, transient transfection, and resin-based purification (protein A preferred, FPLC preferred)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with recombinant DNA technologies including cloning, bacterial culture, site-directed mutagenesis, gene synthesis, and sequence verification
- Experience with biophysical techniques including PAGE, HPLC, ELISA (or other plate-based assays)
- Experience with high-throughput protein production
- Familiarity and desire to work with automation and robotic systems for biologic workflows
- Experience with relevant scientific software (Geneious, Chromeleon, GraphPad) a plus
- Experience with yeast display a plus
- Experience with bio-interaction technologies (SPR, BLI) a plus
