Programmable DNA, the software of Life, is finally here! Our client is developing a disruptive Synthetic DNA technology that will change the world, enabling widespread health and sustainability. Synthetic biologists will use our products to engineer how organisms produce cures to diseases, everyday chemicals are made using the atmosphere as the carbon source, plants make their own fertilizers, in-vivo diagnostics will alert us when we are sick, and many more applications.

We are currently seeking an IT Support Engineer/ System Administrator to join our growing team. We are looking for a top-level performer, someone who is passionate about their career and consistently demonstrates that they are a team player.


  • Provide world-class end-user support (in-person, online, and over the phone) to address issues in a timely manner. 50% User Support, 50% Administration
  • The ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
  • Respond to tickets, instant messages, phone calls, and requests for technical assistance from colleagues and executives
  • Atlassian Jira/Confluence Administration
  • MS Windows 2012 Server Administration
  • JAMF Administration
  • Basic networking skills including network switch configuration, VLANs, and cabling (Meraki)
  • Image, configure, deploy new computers (MAC & PC) and other technology equipment
  • Manage account provisioning Active Directory, Office 365, Google Apps, Certify, Cylance, Open DNS, Carbon Black, Acronis, Druva, and Atlassian
  • Manage Lab Computers which are connected to instruments
  • Management and execution of IT Service Request Tickets (Jira.)
    Operate and improve our Mac OS X / PC endpoint management and imaging solutions
  • Support our Video Conference (Zoom) rooms, and help produce events like All Hands, Visiting Speakers, Lunch & Learns
  • Highly proficient in the creation of detailed documentation, along with excellent training skills on the use of the new systems as you solve business problems
  • Respond to alarms and participate in an on-call rotation
  • Abilities to work closely with our MSP
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 5+ years Information Technology experience in Biopharma/startup preferred 

Preferred Experience:

  • Interest in Biotech, DNA, Synthetic Biology
  • Certifications in relevant areas (Windows / OS X / A+ / Networking)
  • Atlassian tools (JIRA / Confluence / Service Desk) administration
  • JAMF Administration
