Summary
Regeneron is seeking a highly motivated R&D Associate to join a group focused on development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of infectious diseases. Applicants highly skilled in the following techniques will be given preference: Standard and MSD ELISA, virology techniques including handling of retro/lenti viruses and associated plate based cell assays, multicolor flow cytometry, cell culture. Must have experience carrying out experiments and performing data analysis with minimum supervision. Applicants should be able to perform routine tasks involved in virus research, including basic safety procedures in a BSL2 environment. Experience working with herpesviruses is a plus. Must either have experience or be willing to learn to work with small animal models. This position will involve working in a fast-paced, group-oriented, stimulating environment and is ideally suited for someone interested in greatly expanding their skills and knowledge base.
Responsibilities
- Candidate will function as part of a virology research group. The ultimate goal is to design, validate and develop therapeutic reagents for the treatment and/or prevention of virus infections. In this role he or she will:
- Maintain and culture viruses as necessary Develop in vitro and in vivo models of virus infection
- Work routinely in a BSL2 environment.
- Evaluate infectious disease models for immunological parameters
- Evaluate therapeutics in vitro using basic molecular biology/immunological assays.
- Evaluate therapeutics in vivo using mouse models of infectious diseases
Requirements
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Cell culture, virology, basic molecular biology/biochemistry, flow cytometry, microscopy.
CORE COMPETENCIES: Incumbent should be able to perform tasks involved in running a virology/immunology research including viral culture techniques and basic safety procedures in BSL2 laboratory and proper storage and handling of viruses. Experience with plate based cell assays, multicolor flow cytometry, and fluorescence microscopy is preferred. Understanding and previous experience on virology and immunology would be distinct advantages.
Experience:
Required: MS/BS with minimum 0-2+ years experience
Desired - Master's with at least 2 years research experience
