Our scientists will focus on novel targets and pathways for tumors that are refractory to current Immuno-Oncology therapies. These are significant challenges that will require innovative solutions from the biopharma, biotech and academic communities.

Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Research Scientist, who has experience in evaluating, developing and implementing novel, emerging technology in clinical specimens. The qualified candidate has extensive experience in establishing new technological platforms and developing novel workflows for a variety of biological questions utilizing a diverse set of sample types, including but not limited to frozen/FFPE/fresh tissue and PBMCs/plasma/serum/biofluids etc. The qualified candidate will be responsible for executing the plan to develop new assays across multiple platforms internally and/or to liaise with external partners to deliver on novel platforms and capabilities. This role will require the candidate to collaborate across the multidisciplinary translational medicine team and more broadly engage our colleagues in the broader organization in Cambridge, Princeton and Redwood City. This candidate will also aid decision-making in exploring and deciding on technologies and platforms that will facilitate elucidating key biological questions, opening opportunities to establish new insights into why some patients do not respond to IO therapies.

Qualifications / Essential Skills
  • MS with 5-6 year experience in cancer biology, cell and / or molecular biology or a related field, with a minimum of 3yrs in a biotech/pharma setting.
  • Ideally candidate will have demonstrable advanced technological expertise for example, exome, transcriptome and other "omics" preparatory methods, secretion and metabolic screening and profiling capabilities, and other auxiliary methods and processes applicable to clinical specimens
  • Deep knowledge of molecular sampling techniques including DNA/RNA/protein isolations from clinical specimens, such as FFPE, OCT, snap frozen, DTC's and blood
  • Complex troubleshooting capacity both from a technology stem point and the application to clinical specimens and all the associated complications and caveats
  • Experience reviewing and assessing new technology platforms and managing partnerships with biotechnology partners
  • Prior experience as part of a multidisciplinary team in an academic or industry setting
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills and flexibility and proactive approach to taking on a multifunctional role within a large cross-function team.
