Summary . The Assoc. Director leads Category Management activities and development of sourcing strategies primarily supporting Facilities and Capital equipment purchases for the Tarrytown campus. The Assoc. Dir. will lead a team either directly or matrix in developing, optimizing, and executing global and regional Category Strategies, Supplier Relationship Management Strategies, Risk Management Strategies, and other related activities aligned with the Company and Department Mission, Vision, and Priorities. The Assoc. Dir. will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to develop strong relationships and drive consistency in how work is contracted and outsourced and will be a champion of category management for the entire Strategic Sourcing and Procurement organization, providing coaching, guidance, support and overall leadership to team to ensure goals are achieved. Responsibilities . Works in collaboration with a global Enterprise Sourcing Team to ensure sourcing & procurement activities synchronized across the enterprise and Regeneron's scale is leveraged appropriately . Responsible for end to end management of assigned Capital & Facilities categories, including the category strategy development, category sourcing plan execution, and projects execution to optimize value . Proactively drives strategic sourcing activities in collaboration with stakeholders to achieve business objectives, utilizing strong category management skills, including conducting opportunity analysis, supplier competitive landscape, developing bid lists, evaluating proposals, supplier selection, supplier relationship management SRM , process optimization and execution of commercial agreements . Collaborates with internal stakeholders and suppliers to implement and manage efficient and effective supplier relationships. Develops and manages supplier relationships and issue resolution of moderate to high complexity, support project team in resolution of issues . Defines category performance targets and works with team to achieve goals . Drives annual productivity improvements in each category of spend by developing and ensuring implementation of ideas to optimize total cost of ownership for spend categories . Reviews major contracts for key areas of spend and is an expert resource for planning and leading complex negotiations . Measures and tracks internal performance within each spend category by tracking forecasted vs actual savings and budget impact for portfolio of categories . Identifies/defines sourcing best practices both within and outside of Regeneron and ensures those best practices are adopted . Leverages strong influencing skills to define sourcing role and aligns project objectives and targets with stakeholders . Monitors key suppliers' performance, ensures effective Supplier Relationship Management to drive continuous improvements . Evaluates operational effectiveness and identifies new processes that will make the indirect goods and services procurement process more efficient . Develops, leads, coaches, and directs the indirect goods and services Tarrytown Real Estate and Facilities Management sourcing team . Educates end-users on Procurement policies and procedures through daily interactions . Independently authors contractual documents and works with Legal to designs and revises templates as required . Identify/define sourcing best practices both within and outside of Regeneron and ensure those best practices are adopted . Provides coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reports as applicable . builds and directs talent building and development objectives for the organization #LI-LC1. Requirements . Education . Bachelor's plus 10 years of relevant, progressive experience within procurement supporting facilities and capital equipment . Master's plus 8 years of relevant, progressive experience within procurement Experience . Advanced Category and Program management experience . 2 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated experience leading a matrix team . Working knowledge with Sourcing Contracting and eRFX systems, ERP, etc. Oracle, Zycus, GEP, Ariba . Ability to leverage standard business applications for communicating, presenting and analyzing Word, Excel, Powerpoint . Strong negotiations skills . Cost modeling and TCO knowledge . Effectively communicate verbally and in writing business objectives and priorities within all levels of management . Ability to build consensus, teamwork, and creativity within a collaborative team with limited supervision . Strong ability to work in ambiguity and translate into actionable activities . Advanced ability to drive results expeditiosly by quickly gathering information, building consensus, and making sound fact based decisions in a timely manor .
