National Account Executive, Mid Atlantic

General Position Summary/Purpose:

The National Account Executive, Mid-Atlantic will develop strong relationships with medical and pharmacy departments within a targeted list of National and Regional account based customers. This account based job also has specific territory responsibilities within a designated geography. These responsibilities include commercial health plans, Medicare, Managed Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, ACOs, IDNs, etc. This individual is responsible for executing all strategies and tactics within each of their accounts as well as offering field support to sales when appropriate. Thus, an overall knowledge of managed markets, reimbursement, and first-hand account experience is required. This individual will discuss the value proposition across the company portfolio and provide leadership where appropriate with field sales to answer Market Access related questions, create strategy, and deploy tactics. They should be familiar with and able to discuss value proposition, pharmacoeconomic models, and relevant topics for an oral oncolytic medicine. This individual will need to operate with multiple internal stakeholders including Medical, HECOR, Marketing, and Sales colleagues.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Able to access account Decision Makers and/or Influencers for on-label product specific discussions.
  • Work with Key Decision Makers at the plan to ensure appropriate coverage and access for all company products and indications.
  • Assist in placing products on formulary and help resolve any reimbursement or coverage issues.
  • Be willing to take on special projects that will help facilitate access for company portfolio.
  • Cover all accounts both National and Regional within geography. This may involve travel outside of geography for large national accounts and conferences.
  • Attend territory meetings with sales counterparts to uncover business opportunities.
  • Actively use company databases to monitor access and develop appropriate strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university
  • 10 years of biotech/pharma experience, three of which must have been as a National Account Executive
  • Be a content expert within the Market Access Space. This should specifically include knowledge of pharmacy and medical benefits designs, recent legislative changes, Commercial, Medicaid and Medicare (FFS and Managed)
  • Experience in national accounts: Prime therapeutics, Highmark, Perform RX, Mid Atlantic Blues Plans preferable
  • Understanding of Medicare Part D
  • Creative thinker - able to identify, develop, and execute sound strategies
  • Ability to analyze and create custom reports. Ability to explain these reports to others including those without direct Market Access experience
  • Competent with PowerPoint, excel, word, etc.
  • Must be able to hit deadlines, stay organized, and be self-sufficient. Excellent communication, written, and verbal skills
  • Up to 75% travel
  • Additional Qualifications Considered - MBA, Advanced degrees, certifications
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and company policies
  • In addition to passing Pharmacyclic's background screening, the employee must submit to and pass additional background screening as required by some institutions and health facility sales accounts (additional screening requests may include but are not limited to background checks, immunization, TB, HIV, hepatitis, and drug screening)
