Job Description:

The Compensation Manager for Ipsen North America will provide Compensation expertise, analysis and consultation to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Business clients as appropriate to ensure our programs are market relevant, compliant with all legal requirements and attract and retain top talent.

Essential Functions

Support the HR Teams with compensation competitive analysis
  • Manage all steps of conducting external market data analysis including submission of data to external salary and pay practices surveys, assist with audits of survey data, the final reporting and communication of competitive analysis
  • Makes recommendations on compensation structures
  • Explore best practice compensation analysis tools and provide recommendations to the HR Operations team
  • Work closely with HR team on new hire compensation proposals, promotion and salary reviews
  • Conducts forecasting and analysis of base compensation budgets


Supports Short-term Variable Pay Programs and LTI Program
  • Ensures current and compliant program documentation is maintained for all programs
  • Conducts analysis and forecasting for budget approvals and reports on results
  • Maintains documentation for our plans and set up audit processes
  • As North American STI and LTI plan administrator ensure accurate payout processes in line with Ipsen's global guidelines and processes


Manages the Annual Compensation Review, Bonus Payout and LTI Cycle
  • Manages the annual merit, bonus and long-term incentive review process by preparing compensation analysis, status updates, reviewing recommendations and consolidating data for approval
  • Prepare communication, training and documentation such as compensation review guidelines
  • Ensures compliance, documenting processes, analyzing data and providing support on compensation recommendations


Organizes and maintains Ipsen's job description library and performs job evaluations
  • Manages the overall job creation and maintenance process including system set up, verification of survey benchmark codes, assigning all mandatory compensation related data, work closely with the HR Operations, Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner team on the end to end process
  • Subject Matter Expert for all questions related to jobs, job profiles, the job profile inventory system and process to maintain job descriptions in accordance with Ipsen's records retention guidelines
  • Provide training material to ensure consistent level of job description content quality in accordance with US legal requirements (e.g. FLSA requirements)
  • Perform job evaluations applying Ipsen's job levelling approach


Compensation Reporting and Project Support
  • Responsible to create monthly compensation and job roster reports. Perform compensation analysis routinely to support HR teams
  • Support HR team with work on local and global Compensation Projects as assigned
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all compensation related policies, guidelines, training and communication materials including tools, forms and templates


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business or other related discipline
  • CCP or similar certification in Compensation and/or Benefits is desirable


Experience
  • 2-3 years' experience working in Compensation performing similar duties;
  • 3-5 years of overall working experience preferred
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of key compensation areas, concepts and policies


Core Competencies (Specific knowledge, skills and abilities that enable an individual to effectively perform the job)
  • Technical knowledge of compensation principles, tools and techniques; understanding of people management and human resource functions and systems.
  • Basic understanding and application of Compensation legal requirements, FLSA regulations.
  • The role requires strong analytical skills, demonstrated competence in one or more HR information systems, preferably ADP and Workday. Mastery of Excel and intermediate to advanced skills in other Microsoft Suite applications preferred as well as the ability to quickly learn new IS systems.
  • The incumbent need to have excellent communication skills to effectively interface with HR and business clients in the area of salary survey analysis, job descriptions, job level communication and other sensitive and sometimes controversial compensation situations. Ability to effectively compose business correspondence, policies and procedures, detailed and executive reports, presentations, and analyses
  • Ability to define problems, research and collect data, establish and evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to make administrative and procedural judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and administer complex administrative systems and processes.
  • Eager to help "branding" Compensation for Ipsen and open for new and innovative Compensation ideas.
