As an AbbVie Experiential Intern, you'll participate in a paid, ten to twelve-week summer program that is focused on providing students with robust projects throughout the summer. As an intern, you will be located at our corporate headquarters in north suburban Chicago, with housing and shuttle services for eligible students.

Department Overview - Regulatory Quality and Safety (RQS) Operations - Business Services

RQS Operations' mission is to create and drive process and system efficiencies for increased productivity and agility. The Business Services group within RQS Ops serves as a trusted partner, collaborating with RQS stakeholders to implement innovative solutions for the business so they can focus on the business of RQS.

Assignment Details

The RQS Operations Business Services Project Management intern will provide support to the RQS Ops Cross-Functional Project Managers on one or more RQS business consulting solution offerings for complex RQS cross-functional initiatives that may include business, IT, culture, or business strategy projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Leverage software (e.g., MS Visio, MS Project, OneNote, MS Excel) and technology (e.g., SharePoint) to assist in the creation of project management deliverables such as project plans, action item lists, and meeting materials.
  • Create succinct, yet illustrative presentations to be delivered to various RQS stakeholders (e.g., Leadership teams, RQS business functions, IT).
  • Provide support in the planning, execution, and follow-up of team meetings.
  • Conduct analysis on identified business problem in order to support the development of recommendations for improvement.


  • Completed at least one year of college education before beginning internship
  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship
  • Undergraduate Level Student
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0/4.0
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated).

  • Organized with an attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Exemplifies flexibility and ability to change direction quickly based on business priorities and demands.
  • Accountable and meets commitments.
  • Produces quality deliverables by the agreed upon date.
