The Strategy & Operations Head of GPS is accountable for the administration of the overarching GPS governance framework for the GPS Leadership Team. This encompasses the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the framework. This also requires the needed coordination and alignment of key stakeholders to ensure the appropriate oversight of near-term objectives and long-term strategy. Key to the role is direct support of the President of GPS which includes various activities such as meeting and presentation preparations, collaboration with the communications group and arrangements for annual general business planning.

Assist in Development and Execution the GPS Strategy:
  • Effectively partner with the LT and OpEx PMO to ensure the execution of short- and long-term GPS strategy
  • Partner with HR, Communications and other operational roles to support the yearly communications plan, initiative change management to drive GPS priorities.
  • In collaboration with the GPS LT and OpEx PMO, develop the GPS metrics for Enterprise Scorecard


Provide leadership support to the President GPS and Leadership Team
  • Drives the GPS governance framework and operational agenda
  • Effectively partner with GPS Leadership Team and the BMS matrix to ensure appropriate understanding of all key initiatives and organizational priorities
  • Play a central role in preparing President for major meetings, presentation and external audiences such as Board of Directors and Analysts
  • Manage and support the GPS President in setting agendas, priorities and objectives for the GPS Leadership Team, including management of Leadership Team meeting


Drive GPS Planning and Initiatives to
  • Play a central role in all planning, functions and processes for GPS, including but not limited, to business reviews, business risk management, objective setting, etc.
  • Partner with GPS Finance in managing the GPS budget
  • Represent GPS and taking a leadership role in enterprise planning team and initiatives.
  • Anticipate future trends, technology and events which could affect GPS and identifying opportunities for organizational or business model changes.


Professional experience and qualifications
  • Strong financial, strategic planning and business planning skills required.
  • Demonstrated success in driving optimal business objectives in a complex matrix organization required.
  • Other requirements include: ability to work on major strategic initiatives; executive-level written and oral communication skills; and ability to prioritize work with autonomy and drive results under pressure.

• Proven ability to act as a change agent while influencing and challenging the status quo.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex issues.
  • BA/BS required. MBA, PhD, or other graduate experience strongly preferred
  • 10 years of related experience required.
