HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR (Learning & Development + Business Partner)

Position Summary:

Global Blood Therapeutics (GBT) is seeking an innovative, experienced and results-driven Human Resources Director who applies their expertise and business knowledge to develop a learning and development strategy and drive initiatives that influence business outcomes for GBT. As a business partner, this individual will build and sustain relationships with key business leaders and various functional teams on strategic and operational execution, including team effectiveness, change management, organizational design, performance management, retention, engagement, talent planning, professional growth and more. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Human Resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Devise scalable learning solutions to create demonstrable business impact across GBT. Measure and report results and adapt as necessary
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's HR strategic plans and objectives
  • Act as a business partner assisting managers and employees with various HR related issues
  • Coach Managers and employees at all levels on a variety of topics including management skills, conflict management, communications, etc.
  • Influence senior management across the company to clarify and resolve cross-organizational business and communication issues and improve overall organizational effectiveness
  • Facilitate efforts to address root causes of human resources issues

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of progressively complex human resources experience required, preferably in a bio/pharma environment
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated success influencing at managers and employees
  • Demonstrated success leading learning and development efforts
  • Ability to work as, and be viewed as, a trusted business partner to the organization
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Clear and concise interpersonal communication
  • Familiarity with global workforce management issues and international employment policy. Previous Global HR experience preferred
