Manager, Financial Reporting

The Manager of Financial Reporting role at Regeneron is a great opportunity to work closely with many different departments e.g , General Accounting, Tax, Legal, Treasury, Finance and upper management to draft our SEC filings and work on various projects. Since the company is continuously changing, you will be exposed to numerous new accounting transactions and encouraged to think critically to propose suggestions on the appropriate accounting treatment. You will continue to develop your technical accounting knowledge and assist with researching guidance within U. S. GAAP. Responsible for various aspects of global financial reporting at Regeneron. Ensures that financial statements and related disclosures for SEC/statutory/other periodic filings are complete and accurate. Perform technical accounting and other research to ensure accounting for complex transactions and disclosures are appropriate . Responsibilities . Prepares and/or reviews various sections of the Company's financial statements and disclosures filed with the SEC, and assists in ensuring all disclosures are complete, accurate, and in accordance with US generally accepted accounting principles U. S. GAAP . Responsible for reviewing XBRL tags, ensuring tagging is accurate. Also, reviews various sections of the Companys statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS . Responsible for preparation and/or review of certain sections of the Company's Annual Proxy Statement . Works directly with various personnel, including members of senior management, in other departments to obtain information necessary to ensure accurate disclosures in the Company's financial statements. Maintains and "owns" excellent working relationships with various members of management from other departments, including General Accounting, Legal, Tax, Finance, Treasury, and Human Resources . Effectively research accounting under U. S. GAAP and/or IFRS for new, complex, or unusual transactions, and be able to communicate/document the Company's accounting treatment for such transactions . Prepares and/or reviews periodic surveys the Companys is required to complete for the U. S. government, including census and other data . Supervises, coaches, and reviews the work of others . Ensures that all required periodic filings are timely prepared and submitted . Liaises directly with external auditors on a number of matters, including their review/tie out of the financial statements . Ensures that all internal control policies and procedures are followed . Provides suggestions and support for process improvements/efficiencies . Assists with other ad hoc projects, such as preparation and/or review of accounting policies, performing research on peer companies, implementation of new accounting standards, etc . Requirements . Strong organizational and project management abilities, attention to detail, and accuracy are critical in this position. Team player. Must demonstrate the ability to think creatively and independently to solve problems, complete projects, and effect operational improvements. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Can effectively communicate in group settings. Performs job duties under minimal daily supervision . Must possess knowledge and understanding of U. S. GAAP and SEC reporting. Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards is a plus . Minimum Educational Requirements . Bachelors Degree . Minimum Years of Experience . Minimum of 5 years of public and/or corporate accounting experience with SEC registrants. Big 4 experience strongly preferred .
