The Bioanalytical Research group in the Pharmaceutical Candidate Optimization Department at Bristol-Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Research Investigator/Scientist in the Lawrenceville, NJ site. The position will provide leadership, technical expertise, and laboratory support in the development and implementation of quantitative analytical methods of therapeutics and biomarkers in support of early drug discovery programs.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
  • Providing strategic scientific and technical insight as part of a team of bioanalytical scientists.
  • Developing and implementing innovative quantitative bioanalytical methods using state-of-the-art sample preparation (e.g. Affinity Enrichment, Immunocapture) and detection platforms (e.g. LCMS) to quantify therapeutic modalities and endogenous biomarkers in support of early discovery programs.
  • Collaborating in a multidisciplinary research environment to address issues related to discovery programs and providing input into experimental design and bioanalytical strategies.
  • Representing the department on project teams and presenting data at internal department and / or other company meetings, as well as external conferences.

Requirements:
  • BS/MS in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or a Ph.D. with a minimum of 5 years of relevant biopharmaceutical experience, preferably including industrial biopharmaceutical experience, with emphasis on quantitative analysis in biological matrices.
  • Demonstrated skills and proficiency in all aspects of quantitative bioanalysis (sample collection, standard characterization, sample preparation, analysis, and data processing and review).
  • Extensive experience in developing complex quantitative assays on multiple instrument platforms including Affinity Enrichment-LCMS. Skills is Ligand Binding Assay execution is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Pharmacology, Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, Toxicology.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical and scientific problems.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to effectively contribute to a bioanalytical group and interface with others in a matrix team environment.
