Project Description . Title . Weighting Resource Requirements for Early Phase Programs Description . The effort required to manage Early Phase/Pre-IND programs varies from program to program. Designations such as Pre-IND/Phase 1/Phase 2, do not provide a full picture of what is required to manage a program. Criteria such as scale up plans, number of cell lines/processes, number of presentations/SKUs, partnerships, projected BLA dates, and total number of clinical studies all contribute to the true amount of effort required to plan a program. New technologies also can create unique resource requirements i.e. iPet, ADC, Comparators . Deliverable . Develop a matrix type evaluation, with weighted criteria, that would essentially "score" a program on the amount of detail/effort that goes into planning the program. The intern would be responsible for developing the final criteria set, with definitions, and weighted importance see Table 1 . With this complete, the sources for data could then be identified, and an initial calculation completed for a select set of programs. Completing the exercise with programs that have obvious differences in difficulty would help to be sure weights of criteria are aligned. At this point, opportunities for automation of data flow to the matrix could be identified. Opportunity . This tool could be used to identify programs that should be transitioned from "cluster" to "cluster". Additionally, this tool could be used in resource planning in regard to individual workloads and future hiring requirements over time, based on the overall portfolio vs project program life cycles .
