Join bluebird bio's enthusiastic and collaborative team to launch bluebird's first gene therapy! Reporting to the VP, Global Commercial Lead, beta-thalassemia, this role will serve a mission-critical role in supporting the launch of gene therapy in transfusion dependent beta-thalassemia in both Europe and the US.

This Senior Manager will partner with other marketers, cross-functional partners, and external agencies on the creation and implementation of disease awareness and branded initiatives to ensure EU region and US are set up for launch success. This is a challenging and exciting role that will provide a breadth of marketing experiences (branded, unbranded, patient, HCP, digital), working on the cutting edge of science and bringing lifechanging therapy to the thalassemia community.

About the role:
  • Translate strategy into tactical execution by leading the development of promotional materials from concept through the review process to implementation
  • Digital and video assets for HCP disease state awareness campaigns
  • Promotional materials to support launch execution in EU and US
  • Active participation in congress planning team and related asset development for Congresses, supporting bluebird bio's commitment to thalassemia community
  • Effectively partner with strategy, insights and analytic partners to understand commercial marketplace and integrate stakeholder feedback on promotional messaging/materials to optimize impact
  • Track critical path to tactic development, allocate resources and track budgets

About you:
  • Must have a proven track record and demonstrated successes in translating strategy into to tactical implementation in the biotech industry.
  • A go-getter, innovative, collaborative and have strong communications skills, and share the company mission to make hope a reality for patients.
  • Seasoned commercial professional, with 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience, preferably in a complex scientific space
  • Minimum of 3 years biotech/pharma marketing experience in execution of commercial and/or marketing strategies
  • Must exhibit ability to perform in fast paced environments and ability to influence without authority and collaborate cross functionally
  • Strong project management skills with ability to work under pressure, prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Bachelor degree required; MBA preferred
  • Science background preferred
