Manager, Pricing and Contracting

General Position Summary/Purpose:

The Manager, Pricing & Contracting will be a key member of the Pricing & Contracting team within the broader Market Access team, and is primarily responsible for managing the operational implementation and execution of all commercial contracts. This individual will frequently collaborate with internal teams such as Market Access, Legal, Finance, Accounting, IT, as well as external customers such as Wholesalers, Specialty Pharmacies, and GPOs.

The Manager will be responsible for maintaining all contracts and related terms and conditions, including pricing and membership, within contracting systems. Additional responsibilities include calculating, analyzing, documenting, and processing rebates and fees associated with all commercial contracts. Also, this role will be responsible for resolving contract implementation issues and data discrepancies, verifying customer compliance with contractual terms, and responding to internal and external inquiries.

As a member of the broader Market Access team, this role will often be called upon to assist in a wide variety of capacities consistent with a rapidly growing organization.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Own the contracting process for the broader Market Access organization, being the liaison between Market Access and Legal, Finance, Procurement for all commercial contracting
  • Calculate and process all commercial contract rebates, fees, and chargebacks based on contractual terms
  • QA/QC all data entered and received. Analyze and resolve discrepancies related to customer information, GPO contract alignment, eligibility, pricing, etc.
  • Prepare check requests for contract rebates and fees
  • Validate invoices against internal sales data and customer reports to determine validity of claims
  • Compile reports that summarize commercial contract sales, rebates, and fees for review by management
  • Track and monitor all agreements for renewal
  • Collaborate with IT to develop requirements to ensure operational compliance and efficiency
  • Effectively and proactively communicate with external customers and internal teams as needed to ensure alignment, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Develop and maintain working relationship with all commercial customer contacts, including GPOs, Wholesalers, Distributors, and Specialty Pharmacies
  • Participate in planned and ad-hoc special projects within the broader Market Access organization


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7-10 years of work experience, at least five of which must have been in biotech/pharma in either a Pricing & Contracting, Government Pricing, or Market Access role
  • Must have had experience working closely with chargebacks, rebates and fees, and government pricing
  • Ability to analyze and create custom reports. Ability to explain these reports to others without direct Market Access or Pricing & Contracting experience
  • Competent with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, stay organized, and be self-sufficient
  • Excellent communication, written, and verbal skills
