Director, IT Portfolio Manager - Commercial IT & Digital/Corp Comms

Summary . The Portfolio Manager within Information Technology and reports directly to the Executive Director of IT Commercial & Digital/Corporate Communications. The role will ensure consistency, structure, rigor and routine to the management of the IT portfolio specific to this business area. This will allow us to enable greater scalability, agility in project startup and drive innovation in project execution and management more efficiently and effectively. Project standards and processes are in place that this role will actively refine, and they will play point of contact with portfolio managers across other business units . This Portfolio Manager role will be on the Commercial & Digital IT leadership team, and work closely with leaders for each functional or platform ownership area. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for providing management oversight and dependency coordination for all key strategic IT initiatives within Commercial and digital,. The Portfolio Manager should expect to be heavily involved in monitoring status, anticipating challenges, unblocking issues, communication of cross portfolio issues, resource planning and project initiation planning. This role will also assist with onboarding external resources and project managers . Responsibilities . Ensure the quality and on time delivery of project management deliverables artifacts related programs and projects, as well as timely execution of gate check processes . Manage budgeting, forecasting and re-forecasting for projects and programs within the portfolio . Oversee resource planning, balancing and adjustments across projects and programs within the portfolio, and identify resource constraints or needs that may impact these programs from outside the portfolio area . Provide status, anticipate challenges, communicate dependencies, issues and risks across projects and programs . Work with the teams to provide consistent, business friendly and transparency and portfolio reporting . Actively manage and mentor external Project and/or Program Managers . Direct and coordinate activities of project management personnel serving our portfolio or cross portfolio to ensure projects and programs progress on schedule, within budget and deliver the expected value proposition . Act as project manager for smaller programs or during discovery/planning to ensure projects start with good plan baselines . Resolve conflicts in assigned duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority impacting project management personnel . Ensure program and project level "lessons learned" activities are conducted with a focus on continuous service improvements . Requirements . Knowledge and Experience . Subject Matter Expertise in project or program management, Agile and Waterfall and hybrid project management methodologies . A track record of high quality, successful, complex, on time and on budget delivery of projects . Experience managing a diverse and changing portfolio . Passion for articulating vision, championing and managing change, as well as achieving high quality results with speed and urgency . The demonstrated ability to effectively organize and motivate diverse teams . Experience commanding status meetings and effectively holding team members accountable for status, deliverables and timely escalation of blockers . Experience mentoring and training Project Managers, optimizing and streamlining project methods and administration . Experience managing project budgets and financial accounting . A history of successfully managing vendors and vendor-implemented packaged software . Collaboration . Exemplify a highly collaborative mindset . Actively anticipate, track and plan for risks and issues, dependencies, resourcing and contingencies . Communicate status, risks and issues with the Business Relationship Manager, clients and stakeholders and peers in a direct and timely manner . Skills/Tools . Experience practicing a range of project prioritization and resource management methods . Familiarity with commercial Project and Portfolio Management PPM tools and reports . Expertise with MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Tableau, Qlik, Excel . Familiarity with the principles of finance and cost benefit analysis e.g , capitalized and expensed costs, opportunity costs, soft and hard dollar benefits, payback, ROI, ROE, NPV, etc . Preferred . PMP or Prince2 certification . Minimum Years of Required Experience . 8+ years of progressive experience in IT project, program and portfolio management . 3+ years managing diverse portfolios of major programs or projects including ERP . 8+ years resource management experience . 8+ years experience working with and managing vendors and partners #LI-EG2 .
