Reporting to the Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, this newly created role will be the finance business partner for our external collaborations. This position will be a key member of the finance team and responsible for all aspects of planning, forecasting and reporting for business collaborations. The successful candidate will work with each of our collaborators to develop business processes ensuring timely and accurate financials both internally and from our external partners. The ideal candidate has progressive finance experience and has worked in external collaborations. This position will also be a member of the internal program teams responsible for the delivery of our partnered transformational products to patients.

About the role:
  • Lead the internal budget/forecast process for collaborations at bluebird
  • Create and communicate monthly reporting and KPIs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Be the primary finance point of contact for our external collaborators
  • Develop robust finance processes with our collaborators to ensure timely and accurate financials
  • Become a key business leader on our internal program teams for each our collaborations
  • Partner with the accounting team to ensure collaborations are properly recorded as part of the month-end close process

About you:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of pharma/biotech accounting or FP&A experience required
  • Prior collaborations experience preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • CPA/MBA preferred
  • Intermediate level with Microsoft Office Products required
  • Experience with Oracle preferred
