This person will work in Protein Biochemistry in Tarrytown, NY. This Co-op position is for Spring AND Summer full time, about 7 months from January to August 2019 OR Summer AND Fall full time, about 7 months from May/June to December 2019 This student will primarily focus on characterization of proteins/ligands using biochemical and biophysical methods. Experiments conducted will include protein purification, protein concentration, CE-SDS, SEC-MALLS, western blots/CE-western and others. The co-op student will have an opportunity to learn various protein characterization methods and gain exposure to Design of Experiment principles DOEs . The position will require the effective communication with the mentor and other laboratory members. This co-op will involve extensive time in the laboratory environment and it will be essential for the student to follow all lab practices and support a safe and efficient work environment . Start building your skills at Regeneron . Must be an undergraduate or graduate student . Must be pursuing a degree in Biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry or relevant scientific field . Must have background in protein analysis with hands-on laboratory experience in the biochemical or biophysical characterization of proteins including spectroscopic techniques fluorescence, CD, FTIR , capillary or gel-based electrophoresis CE, SDS-PAGE , protein chromatographic purification techniques size, charge, affinity . Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to work in a cross-functional team environment General Co-op Program Information . Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD . Program is full-time 40 hrs/wk and is paid . Prefer demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities, clubs, sports or the community . Minimum GPA of 3. 0 . You will work with a specific manager on a project s .
