Information Technology is critical to the enablement of AbbVie's Supply Chain and the ability to deliver life changing medication to patients and healthcare providers. The Senior Consultant, Business Systems must proactively engage with both functional and BTS Supply Chain leaders to determine strategic opportunities where technology can be leveraged to drive operational insights, efficiency advancements, and profitability. By providing consultation, advising, execution assistance, and relationship management, the role will support business unit executives across supply chain functions to ensure alignment and advancement across the Supply Chain organization as a whole.

The Senior Consultant, Business Systems role will also be responsible for the regional management of activities within the LATAM (Latin America) region including: BTS performance of third party logistics partners and contract manufacturers, relationships with AbbVie commercial affiliates, project management, business case development, oversight of regional BTS projects, and the identification and coordination of demand for other BTS services. This leader will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a roadmap for Supply Chain BTS as well as managing the long range planning (LRP) activities for the Supply Chain BTS organization.

This position is expected to work with minimal oversight, and has significant impact on the performance and perception of the Supply Chain BTS organization as a whole, as well as the LATAM region. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Supply Chain Execution BTS.

Primary Responsibilities/Duties:

Responsibilities Specific to the LATAM BTS Region BRM:
  • Manage the portfolio of Supply Chain BTS projects in the region.
  • Measure and manage BTS performance of third party logistics providers and contract manufacturers.
  • Establish a time table for 3PL Warehouse Data Security Assessments and execute as per plan.
  • Maintain relationships with Regional Supply Chain and AbbVie Commercial BTS colleagues. Establish periodic meeting cadence with the Distribution, Freight Manager and the Regional Finance Manager.
  • Provide support in developing KPI Dashboards for Supply Chain Business performance. Report Supply Chain
  • BTS performance to Regional and Local leadership.
  • Understand regional business strategies and collaborate with Global Supply Chain BTS leadership to define and prioritize new BTS services and capabilities.
  • Identify and address training needs for the region.
  • Support on/off boarding activities in the 3PL Warehouse (Maintain on/off boarding procedure).
  • Act as a point of escalation for Supply Chain BTS issues across the region.

BMO for Supply Chain BTS:

  • Create and maintain a roadmap for Supply Chain BTS demand management, portfolio management, resource management, and operations management capabilities.
  • Manage the long range planning (LRP) and capital planning activities for the Supply Chain BTS organization.
  • Align with the business to implement a common strategy and plan to achieve business goals.
  • Lead the Demand and Innovation Intake processes and quarterly planning workshops.
  • Ensure consistent execution of demand management, portfolio management, resource management, and operations management processes across Supply Chain BTS disciplines.
  • Explore Emerging Technologies to improve Supply Chain Business bottom line. Develop Business Cases to justify investment in cutting edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Block Chain, etc.
  • Define a method to communicate the status of the portfolio and value/benefits created by Supply Chain BTS projects.
  • Promote and implement ITIL based processes to ensure cost effective, continuous operation of the Supply Chain systems.
  • Effectively communicate current BTS performance capabilities and opportunities for improvement to executive level business leaders.
  • Work directly with the Associate Director of Supply Chain BTS to translate performance goals into process improvement initiatives.

  • Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 to 12 years of relevant work experience including relationship management, vendor management, project management, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to travel within the LATAM region (10-20%).

Skills/Experience Requirements:
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve performance improvement objectives.
  • Ability to build relationships with Business and BTS executives.
  • Experience planning and implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Track record of driving deliverables to conclusion and managing issues within a team.
  • Hands-on experience with project and portfolio management.
  • Strong understanding of the disciplines necessary to run a BTS organization.
  • Well versed in reporting tools such as Qlik Sense, Cognos, Qlik View, etc.
  • Broad awareness of the technology industry and capabilities.
