Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to assist in the development of cancer therapeutics in the Cancer Immunobiology department in our NYC facility. We're looking for an expert in flow cytometry techniques with experience in cell sorting. Do you have a basic knowledge of immunology with prior academic and/or industry experience? Your primary responsibility is to enable applications of flow cytometry techniques to preclinical and translational research for the discovery and development of novel immunotherapeutic molecules. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting are required.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as flow cytometry expert able to train individual users on instruments, basic experimental set up and analysis using Flowjo software
  • Design and run flow cytometry and cell sorting experiments on BD and/or Sony instruments
  • Maintenance of instruments and hardware troubleshooting
  • Stay current on trends and technology in flow cytometry and identify opportunities for early adoption to advance capabilities
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to assist in the development of new cancer therapeutics
  • Develop in vitro assay systems to evaluate promising immunotherapy strategies
  • Maintain a detailed and organized lab notebook
  • Provide written and oral communication of work, write lab reports
  • Attend and participate in project team meetings
  • Laboratory maintenance: inventory, purchasing, reagent preparation, etc.

Basic Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Biological Sciences - Immunology, Cell biology or related field
  • 2 or more years of industry research experience preferred
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position


Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Experience with Fortessa X20, Intellicyt, ZE5 Cell Analyzer, Sony Sorter, Aria Fusion Sorter
  • Knowledge of flow cytometry analysis software (FlowJo, FACS DIVA)
  • Ability to work independently and within a project team
  • Ability to multi-task and efficiently handle varied experiments while maintaining quality results
