Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Negotiates contracts for the procurement of required materials and services from approved suppliers. Demand the best overall value
  • Builds and maintains supplier relationships that provide high quality products and services at a better price, while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct
  • Generate purchase requisitions with completeness and accuracy of information
  • Maintains accurate material pricing in system, at all times
  • Process requisitions with a timely turnaround
  • Manage non-compliance tracking of requisitions
  • Interpret and communicate purchasing procedures to departments
  • Assist departments in initiating requisitions and orders and train users as required
  • Solve problems and proactively resolve problems relative to work flow stoppages
  • Suggest process improvement ideas to improve efficiencies and reduce waste in the P2P process, and contribute to other process improvement initiatives
  • Obtain vendor quotes, some sourcing and negotiating
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Provide excellent and timely customer service to internal stakeholders
  • Good collaboration skills are a must
  • Analytical skills required to perform data analyses in support of sourcing strategy development
  • Negotiation and relationship management experience
  • Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Zycus, Netsuite, Point Purchasing ERP experience a plus

  • BS/BA degree in related discipline
  • Requires at least 3 to 5 years of related experience
  • Biotech/Clinical Procurement experience, a plus
  • May require certification in assigned area i.e.: Dangerous Goods Shipping, Import and Export Documentation
  • Performs a variety of complicated or multi-layered tasks
  • Outstanding organization and detailed oriented skills
  • Applies strong analytical and business communication skills
  • Zycus or e-procurement system skills, a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
