Research Associate/Associate Scientist: Cell Biology, Antibody Development

Precision IBD is focused on the discovery and development of therapeutics and companion diagnostics for IBD using a precision medicine approach.  With an integrated, multiplatform strategy we are able to identify dominant pathways in the pathogenesis of IBD.  To date this work has led to the identification of several new potential targets and drug candidates for the treatment of IBD.

Job Description:  We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Research Associate/Associate Scientist with cell culture experience to conduct ELISAs,  flow cytometry and cell-based assays to support studies leading to the identification of new therapies for IBD.  The ideal candidate is an individual that enjoys the fast-paced and dynamic environment of a startup with the demonstrated ability to follow established protocols for critical, routine assays.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine ELISA and FACS-based assays to screen and characterize antibodies.
  • Analyze data and upload results into database.
  • Assist in developing and optimizing new assays to support pre-clinical evaluation.
  • Keep meticulous records and maintain ELN entries.
  • Act as a resource for other scientists in the group.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in a biological science required.
  • 3 – 8 years’ research experience, preferably in an industry setting required.
  • Strong cell culture skills are essential.
  • Prior experience with primary cells, human and animal blood and tissues preferred.
  • Prior experience with flow cytometry, ELISAs and antibody-based therapeutics is required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using Excel and Prism (GraphPad) desired.
  • Prior experience with developing novel assays for antibody-based therapeutics a plus.
