Responsible for ideating, producing and publishing original and engaging stories that support and promote AbbVie's growth story and protect and enhance AbbVie's reputation. The candidate will also provide support for development of executive communications materials. As part of the Corporate Content Media StoryLab team within corporate communications, the candidate will engage external and internal stakeholders by bringing AbbVie's corporate narrative to life across multiple external and internal channels, including the AbbVie Newscenter, corporate website, internal portal and via social media.


Content Planning, Creation and Promotion
  • Develop and deliver best in class stories, content, video and promotion to effectively tell the AbbVie story, with emphasis on corporate responsibility, corporate and commercial functions. Produce interesting, timely and visual content to support the various communications channels utilized by StoryLab.
  • Drive the production and development of stories and related assets, leveraging internal and external resources and agencies.
  • Contribute new thinking and best practices in content strategy and development from within and outside industry, and establish short and long-range goals and objectives, as well as defined outcomes and metrics.
  • Participate in channel planning and promotion discussions with corporate communications and digital teams; coordinate promotion efforts with digital and public affairs teams tied to major company or external milestones
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g. public affairs, medical affairs, patient relations, R&D etc.) in the development of a multifaceted, integrated content strategy, ensuring StoryLab stories and content are a lead consideration in communications plans.
  • Manage all reviews and approvals for stories, including medical-regulatory review. Serve as main point of contact for reviews.

Channel Strategy and Measurement
  • Develop and execute channel strategy for StoryLab, inclusive of influencer engagement, media relations and sponsored content.
  • Leverage analytics, social and traditional media listening to develop insights and recommendations for future stories and social promotion that aligns strategically with AbbVie's content strategy and voice.
  • Lead analytics for StoryLab team, share metrics and monthly insights with team.

Corporate Communications Support

  • Develop content and materials to support AbbVie executives internally and externally.
  • Support corporate communications messaging and materials development, as needed.

  • Basic:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Integrated Marketing, Communications, or Equivalent.
    • 10+ years of relevant experience and proven track record of success in developing and executing content strategy, digital and social media, corporate and/or product communications and/or public relations.
    • Experience in the healthcare/bio-pharma industry a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong visual capability along with knowledge of emerging communications trends and technologies.
    • Knowledge of video production (script writing, producing, creative direction, etc.)
    • Strong business acumen with the ability to anticipate company and team needs.
    • Detail-oriented, creative, well-organized, results-oriented and enjoys complex challenges.
