Aridis Pharmaceuticals ( is a biotechnology company based in San Jose, CA that focuses on developing novel, innovative immunotherapies for infectious diseases. Aridis’ portfolio of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and small molecule drugs holds great promise as a solution to the growing problem of infectious diseases.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and results oriented Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to support the development of monoclonal antibodies as therapeutics for infectious diseases. The successful candidate will contribute to preclinical and clinical antibody development activities, including antibody production and characterization, target identification and assay development. The candidate should be a well-organized and self-motivated team player who feels comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform standard protein analysis techniques (e.g. A280, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, SEC-HPLC)
  • Develop and execute assays for the characterization of antibodies
  • Produce, purify and characterize antibodies and target proteins
  • Establish and maintain mammalian cell lines
  • Conduct basic molecular biology work (PCR, cDNA cloning)
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed experimental records
  • Actively contribute to general lab duties including equipment maintenance, instrument calibration, reagent resupply and ordering


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related scientific discipline with 5+ years practical experience
  • Strong working knowledge of protein biochemistry and antibody structure and function
  • Expertise in immunological assays and standard protein analysis techniques
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and sterile work technique
  • Experience with protein expression (bacterial, mammalian systems), purification and standard molecular biology methods preferred
  • Interested and willing to learn new techniques and establish them as validated assays
  • Well organized with excellent attention to detail while keeping track of the bigger picture
