The immuno-oncology discovery at Bristol-Myers Squibb is seeking a highly motivated research scientist to join a group of researchers in executing research aiming to identify and characterize novel therapeutic targets for cancer immunotherapy. In particular, this position involves leading efforts in the investigation of patient samples. The candidate will lead a team that will participate in the phenotypic characterization of the tumor microenvironment through flow cytometry as well as functional responses through patient derived tumor organoids (PDOs), spheroid, and histoculture experiments.

Requirements:

Ph.D. in cancer biology, immunology or related field and at least of two years post doctorate experience Experience with managing a team and directing activities of more junior personnel Expertise in patient derived tumor organoids, tumor histocultures, or spheroid cultures. Flow cytometry experience (FACS) ideally with the ability to perform multi-parameter analysis as well as cell sorting. Ability to work in a team environment as well as communicate and coordinate efforts between multiple groups and vendors.

Responsibilities:

Assay development involving PDOs, spheroid, or histocuture techniques Investigate the tumor micro-environments using techniques such as flow cytometry. Manage direct associate personnel and maintain close and productive interactions with discovery biology groups for assay applications Ability to effectively interact and communicate with multidisciplinary scientists, both internally and externally; excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills essential Coordination with CROs or collaborators for the collection of patient samples. Write detailed protocols and maintain appropriate documentation.
