Research Associate/Senior Research Associate
The California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute is a dynamic group of scientists and clinical investigators focused on biomedical and translational research. We are the research component of California Pacific Medical Center, the largest medical center in San Francisco. Currently we are seeking a self-motivated, innovative, and passionate scientist to join our group’s exciting new translational oncology effort toward implementing a precision medicine approach to cancer treatment.
This position requires advanced knowledge of rodent (mouse) surgical procedures, and primary mammalian cell culture. Knowledge of processing human tissue and blood and prior experience in mouse models of cancer (xenograft) is required.
Advanced knowledge of cancer genomics is necessary. Good working knowledge of biochemistry, molecular and cell biology are also required. A background in neuroscience or neuro-oncology research is highly desirable. Previous publications in the field of cancer research for candidates holding a PhD are required. Experience with bioinformatics is a plus.
Who you are: MS + 1 year of experience or PhD with less than 2 years postdoctoral experience preferred. BS with significant relevant research experience will be considered. Must be highly collaborative, team-oriented, but also capable of working independently. Strong written/verbal communication skills are required. The position may require occasional weekend and evening duties. Salary is commensurate with experience.
