Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the General Manager and the Devens leadership team in determining strategic priorities for the organization in support of the realization of Devens Campus strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate the business operations needs of Biologics Commercial & Clinical Manufacturing Senior Leadership team including annual goal setting,Town Hall Content, Monthly Performance Metrics and Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Ensure site strategy, objectives, and key projects in the portfolio (including updates) are clearly communicated to the site. Represent Devens site at above site governance bodies that review site metrics and/or project portfolio performance.
  • Project Management Office (PMO) Accountable for Devens PMO. Manage PMO team.
  • Work with various stakeholders to ensure that the Devens site project portfolio is aligned to BMS, GPS, and Internal Bio Sites strategic priorities. Lead annual project portfolio planning process for the Devens site.
  • Ensures successful delivery of the project portfolio through effective governance and prioritization of strategic initiatives across Devens site and in alignment with GPS. Ensure projects are set up for success via charter/milestone roadmap development and pressure testing before approval.
  • Ensures project teams anticipate risks and recognize potential conflicts to initiatives. Proactively develop solutions and alternate plans to initiatives. Provide additional guidance to teams as needed.
  • Analyze portfolio performance and recommend changes as appropriate.
  • Coordinate Project Management resources across Devens site to ensure appropriate level of definition, shared understanding, and information collection and tracking of projects being executed across the business and leverage the PMO to realize the Devens site strategy. Develop and provide high level tool to assess resource constraints in functional areas for project execution.
  • Provide coaching to Project sponsors and leads where appropriate to ensure successful delivery of the project portfolio.
  • Act as Devens PMO interface with GPS and Biologics PMO network to ensure alignment and transparent reporting on portfolio planning and portfolio updates. Additionally ensure collaboration across network on key end to end project delivery.
  • Develops annual operating budget/staffing levels and manages operation to achieve them.
  • The leader will be a member of the Devens Senior Management Team.


Additional Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage individual PMO staff responsibilities, performance, hiring decisions
  • Prioritize site project portfolio (with input from Site Management Team) and is responsible for project portfolio progress and results.
  • Represent Devens site on recommending improvements to global tools / systems in the PMO space
  • Works independently with direction from site General Manager.
  • Manage PMO team (full-time and contractor roles). Lead matrix cross-functional teams for both strategy and PMO related efforts.


Knowledge and Skills:
  • A Bachelor degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering is required. MS/MBA.
  • 10+ years of industrial experience in biologics development or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Preference to candidates with experience in portfolio/program management and/or management consulting.
  • Strong competence in portfolio/program/project management tools and systems.
  • PMP certification desirable.
  • Operational Excellence certification desirable.
  • Experience in developing strategic plans and presentations for senior executives.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills in a highly interactive environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in leading cross-functional strategic teams and collaboration with internal and external partners
