Global Label Management (GLM) in Operations Quality is responsible for AbbVie's end-to-end labeling process in Operations. Through planning and forecasting of label changes, artwork is developed right first time and implemented per country health authority or AbbVie internal timelines.

The Associate Director, Labeling Business Improvement Programs and Systems (BIPS) will identify, design and coordinate process and system improvements that enhance capabilities and improve efficiency across end-to-end labeling. The role has responsibility for 3 main areas: 1. Labeling IT infrastructure strategy, 2. Project Management Office 3. Labeling support services


This role is suited to a dynamic and adaptable leader that drives tangible results and can be build strong partnerships. Key responsibilities as follows:
  • Partner with key stakeholders in the end-to-end labeling process to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely within GLM and its business partners to perform current state mapping, issue and opportunity identification, data collection and analysis, solution development and implementation recommendations.
  • Refine and deploy GLM's project life cycle and PMO set-up including configuration and deployment of Planview.
  • Provide oversight and project management for all improvement initiatives led or supported by GLM.
  • Promote and train on the use of continuous improvement strategies and tools.
  • Provide oversight to reporting and metrics related to end-to-end labeling processes.
  • Lead cross functional improvement projects and activities across end-to-end labeling
  • Develop and implement of strategy to replace AbbVie's artwork management solution.
  • Partner with BTS to develop and refine where appropriate GLM's strategy for labeling IT infrastructure.
  • Execute system changes or upgrades per established roadmap.
  • Develop and implement the staffing model for the BIPS organization, including hiring, training, coaching, and career development.

    • Bachelor's Degree; focus on Engineering, Science, Business, or relevant field preferred.
    • Preferred: Management or Program Management Professional (PMP or PgMP) or equivalent Master's degree in Science, Business, or Project Management.
    • Preferred: Labeling in Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry experience and understanding of Operations complexities for labeling.
    • 5-7 years previous program/project management experience including leadership of a cross-functional and global project team preferred.
    • Strong leadership presence and solution driven style.
    • Excellent cross-functional negotiating skills and ability to influence senior management without direct authority.
    • Ability to create strategy and convert this into manageable and measurable roadmaps.
    • Proven track record in building a high performing team.
    • Strong written and interpersonal communication.
    • Ability to clearly present, influence, and logically justify positions/proposals with senior management.
    • Strong organizational skills with a focus on details.
