Senior Analyst, Transparency Reporting

General Position Summary/Purpose:

The Senior Analyst, Transparency Reporting reports to the Senior Manager, Transparency Reporting and is responsible for performing comprehensive operational activities to support the company-wide Transparency Reporting program to meet its CIA, Federal and State Transparency reporting obligations. The Senior Analyst, Transparency Reporting primarily conducts complex analyses, detailed data reviews and reconciliation activities to ensure the accuracy and completeness of transparency data. This position acts as a conduit between the Transparency Reporting solution and the business, facilitating the correction of errors by the business. The candidate must be hands-on, detail oriented, and possess strong organization, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The position may require candidate to create/update processes and related documentation, as needed.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis/validation and reconciliation of HCP spend data to ensure data integrity; determine trends and exceptions; identify and resolve issues; gather supporting documentation as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all HCP transfer of value spend data gathered from internal and external source data systems.
  • Assist on all business support projects related to transparency reporting requirements.
  • Support and prepare the required federal and state payment reports including verifications and review of data.
  • Provide status updates, data summaries, and escalation when applicable, to management.
  • Define/refine audit plan and controls for transparency reporting program.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements or other opportunities to streamline and improve overall processes/procedures.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on respective data sources, reporting methodologies and requirements.
  • Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits.
  • Liaise with Business/Activity Owner (Clinical Science, Drug Development, Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, Sales/Marketing) and supporting functions (OEC, AP, Events, Procurement, Legal, IT, FP&A, Internal Controls) to ensure timely and satisfactory data collection, remediation/issue management, escalation and resolution is in place
  • Ensure successful processing of Third Party Pass Through via various systems through effective facilitation, tracking, review & reporting
  • Participate in HCP/HCO Master Data accuracy and completeness in related source system data (ERP/AX, Concur, Veeva, Speaker Bureau, Educational Materials) as data quality in data management sources such SpendMart non-research, SpendMart research, and third party pass thru (TPPT) are fundamental for accurate reporting
  • Where a reviewed expense appears to violate federal/state regulations or company's code of conduct or transfer of value rules (e.g., dollar limit violated; inappropriate type of payment/benefit for that recipient), refer to OEC for investigation
  • Perform and implement Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA) as corrections or improvements to organization's processes taken to eliminate causes of non-conformities or other adverse situations
  • Be able to understand and apply the legal requirements of the federal and state transparency laws, and the system requirements of SpendMart and Pharmacyclics other reporting tools
  • Actively participate in other Aggregate Spend and Procure To Pay (PTP) projects as required


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting or Auditing role (prior Big 4 experience a plus).
  • Prior Pharmaceutical industry experience required; At least 2 years of experience in Transparency Reporting preferred.
  • Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and synthesize extensive or diverse data sets.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Consistently demonstrates professional communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills; Demonstrated experience successfully managing competing priorities and proven track record of meeting established deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and proven ability to quickly learn and utilize new systems/software.
