Job Description:

This position leads Learning & Development - one of 7 centres of excellence within the Strategic Commercial Capabilities function, the other six being Business Insights & Analytics, Forecasting, Multichannel, Launch Excellence, Commercial Excellence and International Congresses & Events.

The Head of Learning & Development is accountable for implementing a commercial learning & development curriculum aligned to the skillsets ambitioned for Ipsen's business needs. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage complex projects through realization, and is integral in developing skills and capabilities across our organization that result in effective sales forces and other commercial teams who will thrive in the future healthcare environment.

This key position will lead a team of up to 4.
  • The leader in this position will focus on establishing and elevating capabilities in commercial learning & development, identifying what great looks like and a roadmap for how we will get there
  • He/She acts as internal consultant to challenge and drive implementation for tangible outcomes in alignment with countries and global functions
  • Acts as business partner and plays an instrumental role driving business-impacting programs
  • A key focus will also be to strengthen the cross-country communication and knowledge sharing among Ipsen affiliates

Main responsibilities and tasks

Capability assessment
  • Define the commercial capabilities required in the Ipsen organisation
  • Assess current skill levels against requirements
  • Identify and prioritise capability gaps and areas for development

Curriculum development
  • Map skills identified and the level of mastery required to roles in the organisation, to define a skills pathway along which people can develop
  • Develop and maintain a modular training curriculum for the commercial organisation that helps Ipsen personnel develop the skills required for their role
  • Design global commercial training programs to focus on key selling skills including coaching, disease and product training in 2018

Delivery management
  • Coordinate content input from experts across other Ipsen functions in relevant areas and embed them in the ideal training context to enable an effective adult learning experience
  • Select external training partners where relevant
  • Evaluate training quality and impact
  • Own and manage core platforms for training delivery
  • Identify local training experts

Experience / Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Degree level education, plus further degree or demonstrated learning development
  • At least 15 years of experience in pharma business environment, at least 5 international / global function
  • Prior experience in leading learning & development capabilities
  • Demonstrated commercial operations experience (sales, marketing)

Language: Fluent in English.
